Sayville Music Boosters for the Arts (SMBA) is
proud to present an Evening
in Celebration of the Arts on Saturday
May 10th. Sayville students from 4th to 12th grade
will entertain with theatrical and musical
performances. Literary and visual art work from
talented Sayville students will be on display for
all to enjoy. During the evening SMBA will award
certificates, grants and scholarships in excess of
$16,000 to deserving students for their commitment
to excellence in the arts. Refreshments will be
available during intermission. Please join us in the
Sayville Middle School for the 6:00 PM performance.
Doors open at 5:30 PM. Tickets are $5.00 adults,
$3.00 students. 100% of your admission fee goes to
the SMBA scholarship fund.

The evenings of Friday May 16 and Saturday May 17
the Sayville Players Theatre Laboratory will
present its 31st Annual
Presentation of student directed one act
plays. This year's roster includes such plays as
Julianne Homokay's absurd satire "Wedding Story"
directed by senior Joe Hailey, an adaptation of the
movie Four Rooms entitled "The Misbehavers" directed
by senior Leonid Levchenko, an original play "A Day
with Lou and Andy" directed by seniors Casey Grant
and Brendan Phelps (and also written by Brendan
Phelps), "The Worker" directed by senior Jenna
Hanshe, and two Saturday Night Live skits directed
by senior Sarah Bartlett. Other short plays being
presented to showcase the talents of Sayville’s
underclass Thespians include Monty Python's "Where
Movies Come From", Alex Broun's social commentary
"10,000 Cigarettes", and Garry Michael Kruger's
comic short "Once Upon a Time in the Faculty Room .
. ."
Performances begin at 7:00 both evenings with the
plays performed at different times each night. There
is no admission charge but a donation of $3 per
person to the Sayville Players Theatre Awards Fund

will hold its 20th Annual
Antique and Collectible Show and Sale,
indoors and outdoors – at the Gillette House on
Gillette Avenue (off route 27A Montauk Highway), in
the center of Sayville. Admission to the public will
be $4.00 (early birds 7:00 to 10:00a.m. will be
$5.00). An appraiser will be on the grounds.

Annual Memorial Day Parade
Once again, the
Sayville
Fire Department will be hosting
Sayville's Memorial Day
Parade. The parade will begin at Main
Street and Handsome Avenue and will continue east to
Foster Avenue. Following the parade, a memorial
service will be held at Sparrow park. A firematic
service will then be held at the Sayville Fire
Department. Any groups who have not received an
invitation but would like to march should call (631)
355 5005 by May 16th to reserve a spot in the
lineup. |

Annual Memorial Day Parade and
Ceremony
at Sparrow Park
Sponsored by
the Sayville
Fire Department, the Annual Memorial Day
Parade kicks off from Hansome Ave at Prince of Peace
School Parking Lot and moves through the Heart of
Sayville. Veterans from the Smith-Wever American
Legion Post # 651 will be honoring our fallen
veterans and a reception open to the public will be
held following the ceremony at Sparrow Park back at
the Post's Landmark Building at 23 Foster Ave.,
Sayville, N.Y. 11782. JOIN US. |

and volunteers for decorating and clean up crews.
