Thursday, November 10 from 4:30 to 5 pm and Friday, November 11 from 12:01 am until 11 am The Smith-Waver Post #651 Sayville did their part to honor our Veterans. They simulated a guard post in Sayville on November 11th 2005 and a walking post starting at Smith-Wever post on Foster Ave in Sayville going to Sparrow Park in Sayville. They began on Thursday November 10th at 4:30 with the Assembling of the Guard. Then at 5:00 pm in Sparrow Park they had a ceremony to announce what they were doing to honor our Veterans. Then at 12:01 am they begun “walking the post”, until 11 am. They then had a small ceremony to end the day in Sparrow Park.
