Nor'easter Brings Flooding to Sayville

Just when Sayville residents thought they had enough rain and flooding over the past week, a powerful Nor'easter came to town. The storm and moisture from Hurricane Wilma combined to bring plenty of rain and wind to the area bringing down trees and branches on many streets.

Wind and high tide pushed water onto streets flooding Jones Drive, Land's End and covered the sandy beaches where only a few weeks ago residents were lying down on beach blankets basking in the sun. The water came within six to eight inches of completely covering the docks around 6:00 pm on October 25.

Please note that if you have experienced damage to your home from recent flooding call the Town Public Safety at 631-224-5301 and make a report as soon as possible.  Long Island communities could receive federal assistance to help compensate for losses.
