The Mothers' Center of the South Shore held a open house at their new location, 164 Greene Avenue, Sayville. Visitors were welcomed to see the new Child Care and Me and My Mommy rooms and check out the Discussion Groups, Lectures, Workshops and social events. Everybody was welcomed to meet the Center's members and the friendly Childcare Staff and hear how the Mothers' Center can make a difference in you life. 

The Mothers' Center of the South Shore is a non-profit organization of mothers supporting mothers and encouraging mothers, regardless of race, creed, religion or nationality. Peer Support or discussion groups are guided by peer mothers who are trained at the Mothers' Center under the supervision of Maureen Kennedy-Beatrice, M.S.W., C.S.W. Social Worker. Workshops are led by professionals in the field. Most childcare is provided while all groups, workshops, and lectures are in session. 

The Me and My Mommy classes provide fun, gentile movement and exercise stimulation for 3 month olds, safe toys and instruments exploration for crawlers and unsteady walkers and language and motor skill building for one to two year olds. For 2 to 5 year olds the fun continues with singing and crafts in a welcoming and comfortable environment. Some of the Discussion Groups are The Spirited Child, Mothers and Daughters, Mothers and Sons, and Effective Parenting. Lectures and workshops include Spa Night, Wrap Party, Moms Holiday Party/Recipe/Cookie Swap, Music Together, Time Out For Mom, Kids in the Kitchen, Create a Gingerbread House (Gingerbread University).
