On Sunday, October 29th, the Sayville Fire Department responded to a call for a flooding condition at a home on Browns River Road. Chief Beekman, who was the first to approach the area, found flooded roads leading to Lands End Catering Facility. A wedding reception was going on despite the rising waters outside. Some guests wanted to leave but were met by high water. Sayville’s brush truck made several trips through the rising water to bring them to dry land, where the guests met up with their rides home.
