The artwork of
local artist, Patricia Rothar, along with her hand-painted
jewelry boxes and other items will be on display and for
sale at St. John's Episcopal Church, Oakdale, New York
beginning December 8, 2007 through January 2, 2008.
These painting, as well as others from my "Softscape
Collection" will be on display and for sale at St. John's
Episcopal Church, Oakdale, New York beginning December 8,
2007. I also do home portraits, garden portraits. Just
submit a photo, and I will paint it. Makes a great Christmas
gift.
About the
artist: I was born Patricia Lynn Ryan in 1950, grew up in
Levittown, NY. I was constantly drawing or painting or
creating something with my hands since the age of three
(when I did "my first mural").
I moved to Sayville in 1981, raised two wonderful children
there. I started painting again in 1997, when my youngest
went off to college. I have no formal training. I am simply
inspired by the beauty that surrounds me. As I grow older, I
look at life differently, especially after 9/11. I choose to
paint, as it soothes the soul and takes me back to the
simpler times, when we were all still innocent. Painting
helps me to stay "in the moment".
