The Atlantic Wind Symphony performed its annual Holiday Concert before an audience of about 400 enthusiastic concertgoers at the Sayville High School auditorium Saturday, December 15th in what has become a Sayville holiday tradition.

The orchestra, which is in its 40th year, is a professional orchestra as opposed to a community orchestra. The distinction is that all the members of the Atlantic Wind Symphony are professional musicians earning their living in the music field.

Saturday's program consisted of Christmas and Chanukah music and there was even a reading of "Twas the Night Before Christmas" with musical accompaniment.

A standing ovation at the concert's conclusion brought the orchestra back for a medley of Christmas favorites with which the audience was invited to sing along, and sing they did.

The Symphony was conducted by its music director, Mr. David Schecher. The performance was sponsored by the Greater Sayville Chamber of Commerce and Dorothy DiBenedetto of Dorothy's Fine Jewelry in Sayville.
